Jewish Recovery Treatment Program
In the drug treatment community the Jewish community has all to often been ignord because of the erroneous notion that the jewish community does not have a drug problem. All communities have been affected by drug addiction. Since so much of the 12 Step movement was Christian based the Jewish community has felt some what misplaced in the recovery community. The Harrigan Foundation has made a commitment to ensure that the Jewish community can access culturally appropriate treatment.
The Jewish community has very few options for culturally appropriate drug and alcohol addiction treatment. The Harrigan Foundation has collaborated with a number of Rabbi’s and members of the orthodox and conservative Jewish community to establish an appropriate drug treatment program. We offer kosher food, workshops on the Talmud and the Twelve steps and transportation to Synagogue with scheduling that allows for the proper observance of the Sabbath. The program has rabbinical consultants to ensure that the proper religious protocols are followed to ensure the best treatment possible for the Jewish community. |
