Addiction Training Institute
The Addiction Institute is comprised of a number of educational initiatives that provide state of the art training and educational opportunities to ensure that the professionals in the field of addiction and trauma treatment have access the best training and education possible.
CAP Training
The CAP training initiative is the educational training required for certification by the Florida Certification Board for the Certified Addiction Professional, Certified Addiction Counselor and Certified Addiction Specialist. This 350 hour training is provided through the Harrigan Foundation to support the professionalization of practitioners in the field of addiction. Courses can also be used for the annual certification requirements. |

The Masters Series in Addiction and Trauma Recovery
The Harrigan Foundation offers state of the art training Institutes in the areas of trauma and addiction treatment. Our in house faculty includes, Peter Harrigan Ph.D international expert in success recovery therapy, Jon Connelly PhD international expert in Rapid Trauma Resolution, Dr. Tom Beley expert in relapse prevention and success recovery therapy and Philip Diaz MSW international expert in parenting, self parenting and adult children of alcoholic’s issues. Along with our faculty are a number of outside experts that are invited to teach through the institute.
Florida School of Addiction Studies
The Harrigan Foundation will host the Florida School of Addiction Studies South Florida Regional School. The Florida School is a 30 year old school that is provides training and education to counselors through Florida and the US. The Harrigan Foundation is proud to announce our affiliation as the host agency for the South Florida Regional School for 2011.
Recovery Coaches Academy
The Harrigan Foundation is establishing a Academy for the training of Recovery Coaches. The Recovery Coach program is an intensive certificate based training to provide education for mentors in recovery to become Certified Recovery Peer Specialist and Certified Recovery Support specialist. The primary purpose of the recovery coaches program is to provide peer-based services for clients with substance use disorders and to connect the treatment client in recovery to the recovery community.
